Vortech Superchargers UK is the official UK distributor for Vortech Engineering, Inc. We stock and supply the full Vortech range, from complete supercharger systems to individual head units, fuel system parts and charge coolers, and we ship them across the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Who Vortech are

Vortech Engineering was founded in 1990 by Jim Middlebrook in California. Middlebrook had been an engineer at Paxton Superchargers, where he came up with a design for an internally gear-driven centrifugal compressor, and left to build it himself.

The early business was built on Ford. Turn-key supercharger systems for the 5.0, 5.8 and 7.5 litre engines made Vortech's name at a time when the Fox-body Mustang was the car everyone wanted to make faster, and the range expanded quickly from there into other cars and trucks.

Then came the part of the story most people enjoy. Roughly ten years after starting Vortech, Middlebrook bought Paxton Superchargers, the company he had left to go it alone.

Today Vortech builds centrifugal supercharger systems for a wide range of cars and trucks, alongside fuel system components, air bypass parts and charge cooler upgrades for Ford's EcoBoost engines. The company holds several patents in centrifugal compressor design, has won SEMA Best New Product awards, and its superchargers have taken race wins across a long list of sanctioning bodies. The engineering also reaches beyond cars, into marine, industrial and aeronautical applications.

Why a centrifugal supercharger

A centrifugal supercharger is belt-driven off the crank and spins an impeller to compress air, in the same basic way a turbo compressor does, but without waiting on exhaust gas. You get instant response, boost that builds cleanly with revs, and an install that suits engine bays where a roots blower simply won't fit. For a lot of builds it's the most usable power adder there is, strong on the road, strong on track, and easy to live with day to day.

Who we are

Vortech Superchargers UK is owned and operated by TORQEN, an independent UK performance parts retailer with more than a decade in the trade. We are the official UK distributor for Vortech, appointed by Vortech Engineering, Inc.

To be clear about the relationship: we are an independent company. We are not owned by, part of, or a branch of Vortech Engineering, Inc. Vortech build the products in California, we distribute them here. All Vortech trademarks belong to Vortech Engineering, Inc.

That independence works in your favour. We hold UK stock, we speak your language and your timezone, and you deal with a UK company under UK consumer law rather than importing from the other side of the Atlantic and hoping for the best.

Shipping

We ship across the UK and Europe, and worldwide on request. We do not ship to North America, where Vortech Engineering and their own dealer network handle sales directly.

Help choosing a kit

Supercharging is not a parts-off-the-shelf purchase. Fuelling, tuning, intercooling and clutch capacity all come into it, and the right kit depends on your engine, your target power and how the car gets used. Tell us what you are building and we will tell you honestly what it needs, including the parts that are not on our shelves.
